The announcer said a name wrong
Every roster has a name that trips up an announcer. Yours is fixable in about ten seconds, and the fix sticks for the whole season.
Spell it the way it sounds
Open the player, turn on Custom pronunciation, and type the name the way you would say it out loud. Hyphens split the syllables, and CAPS mark the one that gets the punch.
- Chappell said as "sha-PELL" becomes CHAP-ul
- Rivera becomes Ri-VAIR-uh
- Siobhan becomes shih-VAWN
Not sure how to spell it out? Tap Suggest and we will propose a spelling for you. Tap it again for a different take. Then generate the intro again and give it a listen.
Try a different announcer voice
Voices differ in how they handle unusual spellings, so the same name can land cleanly in one voice and awkwardly in another. Open Choose Voice on the player, preview a couple, and regenerate with the one that fits. Changing the voice is free and you can change it as many times as you like.
Write the line yourself
If you want the announcer to say something different altogether, a nickname, a hometown, or a full custom call, open the intro script editor and type the exact line. Whatever you type is what gets announced, so you can spell the name however it needs to be spelled to sound right.
What the Report button is for
The Report this intro and Report this sound buttons flag output that is offensive or inappropriate, and a real person reads every one. A name that came out mispronounced is not that, and the pronunciation fix above will get you a better result faster. If something genuinely inappropriate does come out, please do report it. We want to know.
